ELECTIONS
 
 
Sec. 7-1. Run-off election adopted.
 
    The provision of section 376.9, Code of Iowa, providing for a run-off election are hereby adopted in lieu of the requirements for a primary in sections 376.6 and 376.7 thereof. (Code 1983, § 8½-17; Ord. No. 1023, 6-1-92)
 
Sec. 7-2. Wards.
 
    The city is divided into four (4) wards as follows:
 
  (1) The First Ward shall include all that part of the city lying north and east of a line beginning on the centerline of Sixth Avenue at the east city limits and extending along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to the centerline of Penrose Street to Eighth Avenue, then west along the centerline of Eighth Avenue to Summer Street, then south along the centerline of Summer Street to Sixth Avenue, then west along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to Main Street, then north along the centerline of Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Eleventh Avenue, then west along the centerline of Eleventh Avenue to West Street, then north along the centerline of West Street to the north city limits.
 
  (2) The Second Ward shall include all that part of the city lying north and west of a line beginning on the centerline of Sixth Avenue at the west city limits and extending east along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to the centerline of Prairie Street, then south along the centerline of Prairie Street to Fifth Avenue, then east along the centerline of 5th Avenue to Pearl Street, then north along the centerline of Pearl Street to Sixth Avenue, then east along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to Main Street, then north along the centerline of Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Eleventh Avenue, then west along the centerline of Eleventh Avenue to West Street, then north along the centerline of West Street to the north city limits.
 
  (3) The Third Ward shall be all that part of the city which is encompassed by a line which begins at the intersection of the centerline of Sixth Avenue and the west city limits, and then extends east along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to the centerline of Prairie Street, then south along the centerline of Prairie Street to Fifth Avenue, then east along the centerline of Fifth Avenue to Pearl Street, then north along the centerline of Pearl Street to Sixth Avenue, then east along the centerline of Sixth Avenue to East Street, then south along the centerline of East Street to Fourth Avenue, then west along the centerline of Fourth Avenue to Broad Street, then south along the centerline of Broad Street to the north right-of-way line of the Iowa Interstate Railroad tracks, then easterly along the north right-of-way line of the Iowa Interstate Railroad right-of-way to its intersection with the west right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad then southerly along said west right-of-way line of the Union Pacific Railroad to its first point of intersection with the city limits, then continuing on along the city limits in a clockwise direction to the point of beginning.
 
  (4) The Fourth Ward shall include all that part of the city lying south of the First Ward and east of the Third Ward.

Sec. 7-3. Precincts.
 
    The following wards shall have the precinct designations as follows:
 
  (1) The First Ward as described in section 7.2 shall be the Sixth Precinct.
 
  (1) The Second Ward as described in section 7.2 shall be the Seventh Precinct.
 
  (1) The Third Ward as described in section 7.2 shall be the Eighth Precinct.
 
  (1) The Fourth Ward as described in section 7.2 shall be the Ninth Precinct.
